Offi Dvalinson Talks to the Theosophical Society on 20th January 2014

An introduction to the Northern Mysteries and the Great Goddess Freyja

Mysteries of the World. It is highly likely that all Theosophists will be aware of the Eastern Mysteries, that most Theosophists will be aware of the Western Mysteries including the Kabbalah, Hellenic, Arthurian and Celtic. But what about the North and the South? As to the South, either the world is not ready or the ancient lore has been lost or repressed, I ken that those who dare will find and recover the balance of the directional Mysteries. I will prophecy for only when the Quarters are fully known may the 5th who is also the 9th be realised and truth be known to the world, unity and kindness to AllKind will be.

Hailsa and Welcome.

The Northern Mysteries are old still and have a lot to offer, they are vibrant full of life and death and recognise necessity, practicality, Hospitality and Justice. Together we will explore some of the Mysteries of the North. Looking at some of the races of Gods, Goddesses of Northern Europe, the Goddess Freyja who is the best known, most loved and least understood Goddess. Giants, the Nature of reality, the Nine Worlds. A brief look at Runes, Galdor (Chanting and Singing),  Seidr (Sorcery), social rituals and more. A little bit about evolution, soul lore, some storytelling, some Magick and a spiritual Journey too.

For those who are kin to the North then it will rede right for you; for those who are of the other directions, welcome, awakening and enlightenment.

Frith and Weal

On Monday 16th December 2013,  Ivan Barry will talk about

Visions, Voices, Mystics & Muses for TS Fife in The Merchant’s Garden

An eye opening look at the many ways hearing voices and having visions can change an individual life and sometimes even history itself!  www.visionsandvoices.weebly.com

Ivan has a long experience in mental health recovery roles, “ Hearing Voices Group “ set up and facilitation. He occasionally lectures on managing challenging voices and is a member of the European Hearing Voices Movement and I.M.H.R.C ( International Mental Health Research Centre). Psychiatric Advocacy Worker for 5 years in Scottish Hospital and community settings. His research and learning journey have taken over 15 years.

He will talk from his lived experience about whether the experiences of Visions and Voices  were beneficial or challenging, or possibly even both. Ivan.realised at some point, researching many peoples' lives, that we all might be vulnerable to these events and occurrences. Spiritual practitioners, inspiring leaders, sages, shamanic healers, meditating desert monks, musicians, poets, philosophers, writers and creative artists of all hues and throughout all historical periods, and sometimes even folk like you and me have Heard Voices!  Just Why DO so many diverse individuals, in so many different cultures and historical periods have these experiences and what, if anything, might it possibly mean?

He has also been blessed to read Zen Tarot Cards at Mind Body and Spirit events in Edinburgh, throughout the Midwest USA , as well as Cairo and Alexandria, in Egypt over the past few years. He also reads for individual clients and gatherings in private homes.

THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY SEED GROUP IN FIFE

Weekly Spiritual Development Group at The Merchant's Garden Cafe, Merchant's House, Laws Close, Kirkaldy.

Transient

Sandra, Jane and I invite you to our  Theosophical Society Seed Group in Fife. We begin with a coffee or tea and social meeting about 7pm before the more centred sharing at 7.30pm.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU TO SHARE OUR REGULAR WEDNESDAY GROUP, beginning again on 30th January 2013

The Theosophical Society welcomes people of all Faiths and none. Our motto is “ There is NO Religion Higher than Truth” We are part of a nucleus of people dedicated to co-creating a peaceful Brotherhood of Man beyond creed, race, class, gender, education, financial fluidity etc.

We study and discuss all belief systems with respect, We explore to uncover the latent gifts inherent in Humankind, to Serve the best for ALL. Some of our members are International speakers and some are ordinary folk who have an interest in exploring their understanding of Life. All are equal.

ALL are welcome to listen and to share their views and experiences, held in the unconditional Love of our Guardians, Guides, Angels and Spiritual Teachers, with no insistence upon agreement.

Theosophists can also belong to the Theosophical Society. They share a belief in re-incarnation. Not all members of the Theosophical Society are Theosophists.

On the 12th November, Elaine Dall from A Kind of Magick & TS Fife welcome you to our Seed Group which recently hosted an splendidly illustrated presentation by PAT TOMS, a dowser and member of the Glasgow Theosophical Society. Pat Toms lives in Glasgow. He has always lived in inner cities with their discomforts; how they could be made more harmonious and sustainable is a challenge. He investigates intuitive experience of built form, how ancient and traditional built forms are laid out with respect to their surroundings, describing their positioning and effects in etheric terms. His talk was addressing the question

How can the spirit of a place be enhanced?

Pat's intuitive experience of ancient and traditional built form and its utilisation was clearly presented. Pat talked about intuitive experience of some special places, in particular the ancient Camphill earthworks in Glasgow and its related sites.

Certain features found there are also present at altars in more recent traditional churches and the cathedral not far away. He described the sensual experience of associating with landscape formations in terms of etheric influences, alignments and currents, that arise when associating intentionally with the form of things. We considered how bringing opposite influences together in a place seems to underlie both physical and spiritual growth and change.

We welcomed Pat Toms to Kirkcaldy where many gathered to listen on Monday 12th November 2012 in 'A Kind of Magick' above The Merchant's Garden Cafe, 343 High Street, Kirkcaldy KY1 Fife, Scotland. Folk turned up for coffee at 6.45pm. The Talk began at 7.30pm and we left, sorry to go, at 9pm having listened with delight to a vital, interesting talk and viewed many wonderfully detailed slides. The company assembled were glorious and so glad to meet one another.

We thank Pat Toms for travelling from Glasgow to see us and all who attended this very successful special evening in the life of the Fife Theosophical Society Seed Group. More will follow...
